Agata Stasik – assistant professor at Kozminski University, Warsaw, Poland, and a visiting researcher at the Research Institute for Sustainability Helmholtz Centre in Potsdam, is a sociologist and science and technology researcher. She investigates social aspects of energy technologies and sustainable transition, ranging from shale gas development, renewable energy communities, to new energy technologies in coal transitioning regions. She has lead and participated in numerous national and international research projects related to these topics involving close collaboration with colleagues from different academic disciplines (from engineering to history) and practitioners from business and local administration via city labs and co-creation. She published a monograph on shale gas development in Poland and numerous articles in journals such as Energy Research & Social Science, Environmental Innovation and Societal Transitions, and Journal of Risk Research. Recently, she has published the book Breaking the Carbon Lock-In: Collective Experimentation for Sustainable Transformation.
